2018 Year in Review

January 10, 2019

#1 – We bought a home!

After months (really years) of intense saving, we finally were able to purchase our first home together. This was huge for us! When we found our current home on the market, we knew it was meant to be. We were so relieved to find a home that fit our budget, that more than comfortably fit all five of us, and a place where we could host friends and family.

#2 – We had twins!

The twins came on March 22nd, and I still am sort of in shock about 1) that they are ours, and 2) that I carried two babies to full term! Our bodies are so amazing, and I’m so, so thankful that Lincoln and Wyatt were healthy and strong, and also very thankful I’m not pregnant with twins anymore! Ha! It was definitely the most challenging thing I’ve ever gone through physically, but I look back and am so proud of myself.

I know you always hear things like this, but I cannot even remember life before Wyatt and Lincoln. They fit so perfectly into our family, and we just love their personalities. Lucas adores his brothers, and they are pretty much mezmorized by everything he does.

#3 – We did the three under three thing!

Oh my goodness, three boys under three! Ben and I had so many moments last year where we would just look at each other and laugh. Laugh because we were so happy, laugh because things were absolutely crazy, and laugh because we couldn’t believe this was our life.

Our journey to growing a family was not easy, and we are doing our best to not take for granted that we have three amazing little boys. We still cannot believe we have three. And three BOYS at that!

#4 – Business

Throughout the year, I had a lot of people ask me how I was continuing to run my business and be a mom of three. And truth is, it definitely was not easy but also continued to be very, very life-giving to me. I love getting to be with my clients, I love getting to be apart of their most important moments, and I love running a business and pushing myself.

Choosing to follow my dreams and grow this business is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I love the freedom and flexibility it provides. Getting to be home most days with our boys is everything I ever wanted. And getting to learn and be challenged and stretch myself through this business is also one of my favorite parts! And truly, getting to be with my clients is a huge highlight for me.

#5 – I started shooting film!

This was the perfect way to renew and reenergize my creativity this year! I finally invested in a film camera and started practicing at portrait sessions and some weddings. I love film for many reasons, but this year, it was such a gift to the artist in me!

Thank you to each and every one of our clients and friends that support our business and family! Here’s to a wonderful 2019!
