Jake & Alix | Columbus Ohio Engagement Session

October 27, 2015

It was a beautiful, dewy and foggy morning, and it couldn’t have been more peaceful. Alix and I have been friends for a while, and it was so good to see her again. And I loved getting to meet Jake. These two have been dating for quite a while, and it was so evident during their session how comfortable (and sweet!) they were together.

I’m so glad I get to celebrate Alix & Jake’s wedding with them in February! And, I get to shoot Alix’s sister’s Taylor’s wedding in May! I’m so excited to get to know the Yetter girls and their family. One of my favorite aspects of shooting weddings is getting to know the families.

Here’s what these two beautiful people had to say about their session and each other!

How did you feel during the session?

We both enjoyed our early morning session – it was such a nice way to start the day together. Leigh made us feel so at ease, which made our session really comfortable and fun. We could have stayed and taken pictures with Leigh all day.

What was your favorite moment? What made your session special? We really enjoyed everything about our session. But our favorite moment was probably when we began acting goofy and started spinning around together – and we love that Leigh encouraged it.

How are you planning to enjoy this time of engagement?
Since most of the major wedding planning is complete, we’re enjoying this part of our engagement by soaking up the last days of warm weather together outside golfing or walking our dog Kada. We’re excited for our February wedding, but we know it won’t be warm!

What are you most excited for about your wedding?

We’re most excited to finally be married and start the next part of our lives together; we can’t wait to see what God has in store.

Alix, what is your favorite thing about Jake?
One of my favorite things about Jake is how genuinely he cares about people. His relationships with both his friends and family members is a testament how to intentional he is about getting to know people and nurturing friendships with people. I feel blessed that I’m able to call him my best friend, and soon my husband!

Jake, what is your favorite thing about Alix?
I love how Alix is so caring and goes out of her way to make me feel special. She’s taught me how to be more patient and kind. I do not know what I would do without her – she’s such an influential person in my life.
