Something about these images just really gets to my heart. I think it’s partly because I have two sisters, and partly because I’ve known these girls’ mama for a while, and respect and love her a ton. I posted in all black and white, because I feel that there is more emotion behind black and white. It really allows the subject, in this case, the cutest, most darling girls, to speak. I think I am feeling sentimental…
I met Amy when I first started on my teaching journey…. She was a second grade teacher, I was a building substitute. I got to sit in Amy’s classroom and watch her teach. Let me tell you, Amy is a phenomenal teacher. I soaked up every little bit of her excellence as a teacher that I could. If I was a good teacher, I owe so much of it her.
Amy was also the first person to tell me I needed to start charging for my photography business. I remember the conversation vividly… we were right outside my kindergarten classroom, and she told me that pretty confidently, I should start charging. I was stunned, and wasn’t really sure if I should take her advice…but looking back … I am really overwhelmed with thankfulness for her. For believing in me. Thank you Amy. You and your girls are beautiful.
Thank you Leigh! You are also an amazing teacher, as well as a photographer! I’m always inspired by your pictures and your kindness. I love these images you captured! Your super fan, Amy
